Synopsis Sinopsis

- From 2 February to 1 April 2024, students, educators, parents, and members of the public are invited to nominate outstanding Malay Language teachers for the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award (AGAB) 2024. Jointly presented by the Malay Language Council, Singapore, Malay Language Teachers Association, Berita Harian and the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee, the Arif Budiman Malay Language Teacher Award recognises Malay Language teachers from primary and secondary schools, junior colleges, and Millennia Institute who have made significant contributions to the teaching of the Malay Language. Nominees will be evaluated based on their ability to: Instil knowledge, skills and interest in the learning of the Malay language, literature and culture, as well as their care and concern for the well-being of their students; and Demonstrate the values of Arif Budiman, a learned person who contributes to society through excellent and exemplary service as an educator. Since 2007, the Awards have recognised 77 primary, secondary and pre-university Malay Language teachers. This year, awards will be given out under the following categories: (i) Motivation (less than 10 years in teaching service), and (ii) Role Model (10 years and above in teaching service).
